› Rotondi Award
In honour of P. Rotondi’s extraordinary commitment and courage , "a man who lived his whole life for art" (Giulio Carlo Argan), the Rotondi Award to the Saviours of Art has been established within the "Art Ark" project. The initiative would like to cast an ideal bridge between past, present and future. In this way it reminds us, that the protection of artistic heritage requests the commitment of us all. The international award, divided into four sections (The Marches, Italy, Europe and the World) is specifically awarded by a panel of judges to today’s exemplary protagonists from every part of the world and who through their actions, have saved artistic patrimonies. Every year in June, Sassocorvaro holds these awards. The winner receives a sculpture specially created by the artist Ilario Cuoghi.
Ilario Cuoghi
Da quest'anno il compito di realizzare "materialmente" il Premio Rotondi e' stato affidato a un'altro grande artista scultore Ilario Cuoghi nato a Castelmassa (RO) nel 1936, si diploma a Venezia presso l’Istituto d’Arte e il Magistero.
Dopo aver insegnato per 25 anni discipline artistiche nelle scuole statali, attualmente esercita a Genova la professione di scultore e tiene corsi per stilisti orafi in Italia e all’estero (*) collaborando con aziende del settore nella realizzazione di prototipi per oreficeria.
